Tickets are now available for an evening with Sir Ranulph Fiennes to be held in the Momentum Hall at Oswestry School on Saturday 26 November, 2022, from 7pm.
Recorded by the Guinness Book of Records as ‘the world’s greatest living explorer’, Sir Ranulph’s many superhuman endeavours have pushed his endurance levels to the limit, inspiring countless generations and making him a pioneer of exploration with a remarkable story to tell. Amongst his many record-breaking achievements, he was the first to reach both Poles, the first to cross the Antarctic and Arctic Ocean, and the first to circumnavigate the world along its polar axis.
His story will be told over dinner at Oswestry School’s Momentum Hall on the evening of Saturday, 26th November. The ticketed event, which will be open to all, is being organised by the Old Oswestrian Society to mark the occasion of the anniversary of its’ first dinner 140 years ago in 1882.
Spending an evening with a living legend will provide a unique opportunity to reflect on the power of the human mind to overcome adversity, even in later life. Sir Ranulph scaled Everest at 65 and once even cut off his own frostbitten fingers. He also ran 7 marathons in 7 countries in 7 days as part of an unorthodox recovery programme, having suffered a heart attack four months before. Both light-hearted and strikingly poignant, join Sir Ranulph over dinner as he shares his personal journey through life, from early years to present day.
There will be an opportunity for audience members to ask Sir Ranulph questions during the dinner.
