Organised by Steve Hodge, and taking full advantage of an exclusive hospitality package, the group enjoyed Day 2 of the Gloucestershire vs. Lancashire County Championship in true style. Their experience included match day tickets with access to the prestigious New Club Marquee, where they were welcomed with tea, coffee, and breakfast pastries to start the day.
The hospitality didn't stop there. Guests indulged in a mouthwatering two-course buffet lunch, complete with half a bottle of red or white wine per person, followed by an elegant afternoon tea offering a selection of freshly made cakes and desserts. All of this was complemented by access to a fully stocked bar serving draught beer, lager, cider, house wine, and soft drinks at club prices.
Adding to the exceptional experience, private pitchside garden seating gave the Old Oswestrians front-row views of the county cricket action, while the superb cuisine, prepared by Carl – The New Club’s Chef de Cuisine – and his expert team, made the day a feast for the senses.
The event marked a memorable reunion for the group and celebrated the deepening ties between Oswestry School’s alumni and the world of professional sport.
Here’s to many more innings, reunions, and unforgettable days under the summer sun.
