Thirty years later and Ian (known as IJ) was really pleased to see how many positive changes the school has undergone since he was a pupil in the 1980s.
Chair of the English Schools Athletics Association and Local Authority Lead Officer for PE & School Sport for Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council, Ian remembered how sport was really important to him during his time at Oswestry School. In particular, he remembered going kayaking to Abersoch with Mr Hunt (biology) on a school trip.
Ian hugely appreciated Roger Leonard and PS Jones throughout his school days and the time and commitment that both teachers invested in him. In his own words, "I would not be where I am today without them".
Ian joined us virtually in 2020 for the School's annual sports awards where he was the guest speaker.
