Bellan House |
Having first arrived as a five-year-old boarder in 1969, she spent seven formative years at the school before leaving in 1976. Her father’s career in the army had meant a life of movement, but Bellan House had remained a significant and enduring part of her early years.
Curious to see how the school had changed over the decades, Elaine was delighted to explore the familiar surroundings, now transformed with modern touches while still holding echoes of the past. One of the most poignant moments of her visit came when she discovered a whole-school photograph from 1976. To her amazement, she found herself captured in the image—a snapshot of her younger self, surrounded by classmates and teachers from a cherished time in her life.
Reflecting on her return, Elaine expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect with her schooldays and relive the memories that shaped her. Her visit served as a touching reminder of the power of nostalgia and the lasting impact of the places we call home, even if only for a short while.
