A charity dinner to launch the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) appeal was held in November to gather support for exciting new plans to create a purpose designed performing arts centre at Oswestry School.

The dinner, held in the Memorial Hall, featured performances by current and former pupils as well as members of the Oswestry Dance Academy. It was the first in a series of events being planned to raise awareness of the plans and raise funds for the facility.

We are delighted to report the launch dinner generated a phenomenal £320,000 in pledges and donations.

Together with an earlier anonymous donation of £500,000 from a supporter of the school, over half of the ambitious £1.5million fundraising target has now been raised.

Our sincere thanks goes to the generosity of those donors who have wholeheartedly supported this project so far.  Their support means we go into 2025 with confidence our vision for a bespoke and much-need facility for the performing arts here at Oswestry School will be achieved.

Support needed for The NON-STOP! Charity Challenge

The next fundraising event is the NON-STOP! Charity Challenge which takes place on March 7th and 8th. This event is for the whole school community to get behind, and promises to be packed full of fun and challenging events.

There is an energetic programme of personal or team challenges to sign up to in order to raise sponsorship. Would your friends and family sponsor you to 'bop till you drop' in our 24hour danceathon, or 'run till you flop' in our 24hour marathon? If so, please get in touch!

Other fun and exciting challenges include: 'cycle till you swop' and 'eat till you pop!'. The NON-STOP! Charity Challenge will also be live streamed so that donors and supporters can keep-tracks on participants, making sure they fulfill their challenge promises! Organisers are also keen to hear from OOs who may want to join the challenge virtually. Why not sign up to a personal challenge from your location, wherever in the world that may be.

Headmaster Peter Middleton is currently leading the way and has pledged to run a marathon on the school treadmill. Meanwhile, talented artist and Learning Support teacher Mr Rob Howell has challenged himself to a 24hour caricature - athon! He will stay in school for the full 24hours, pledging to draw all day and night.  Supporters will have the chance to pop over to school for a personal caricature, in return for a donation to the appeal.

Participants can sign up to one or more challenges, for a minimum of one hour, and will be encouraged to raise a minimum of £100 each. Participants can also form teams - could you and your team 'cycle till you swop' for a full 24 hours? Of course you can!

The appeal in now on for as many people as possible to sign up to the event and join the campaign to raise funds for the PAC appeal.

In the meantime, please click on the image links below to the PAC appeal brochure and the on-line campaign page. Alternatively, please contact development@oswestryschool.com for more details or to find out how you can support this exciting project.
