Andrew and his brother Iain attended Bellan during Miss Smith's tenure as Headmistress with Miss Griffiths as Deputy Head. One of his best friends at the time was Owen Ellis, and the family lived in Hengoed.
Following on from his education, Andrew joined the Household Cavalry and gained a degree at the University of Aberdeen. He is now a veterinary officer and lives in Mallaig, Scotland. In his 60th year, Andrew has received notification of acceptance to Harvard University where he will study to become a veterinary chaplain.
